Why people trust A Life Plus
How it works
Registering takes two steps
Every NDIS plan is managed in one of three ways, and that decides who pays us and what paperwork is needed. So the first thing to sort out is which one applies. After that, you sign up and we do the rest.
- Identify how the plan is managedPlan managed, agency managed or self managed. If you are not sure, we can check it with you over the phone.
- Sign up with A Life PlusFill in one form. We prepare the quote and the service agreement, and deal with your plan manager or the NDIA for you.
Step 1 of 2
Identify how the plan is managed
Choose one and we will show you what happens next. Not sure? Call us on (02) 8091 4087.
Plan managed
A plan manager holds your funding and pays provider invoices for you.
- What it meansYour plan manager pays us for the meal preparation and delivery. You only pay the food cost.
- What you needA signed service agreement, and your plan manager confirming there is funding available in Core Supports.
- How long it takesUsually a few days. It depends on how quickly your plan manager confirms the funding.
Agency managed
The NDIA holds your funding and pays providers directly on your behalf.
- What it meansThe NDIA pays us for the meal preparation and delivery. You only pay the food cost.
- What you needA signed service agreement, and a service booking or endorsement set up with the NDIA so we can claim.
- How long it takesThis one takes the longest of the three, because the NDIA has to process the booking first.
Self managed
You hold your own funding, so there is no paperwork to do with us. Nothing else on this page applies to you.

Questions
Common questions
Can I use my NDIS funding to pay for meals?
Yes, in most cases. Meal preparation and delivery sits under Core Supports, Assistance with Daily Living, support item 01_023_0120_1_1. Your plan needs funding available in that category. If you are not sure, call us on (02) 8091 4087 and we will help you check.
Do I pay for anything myself?
Yes. The NDIS funding covers preparation and delivery. You pay the ingredient cost, which starts at $3.25 per meal. The table above shows the full breakdown.
I am not sure how my plan is managed.
That is very common. Your plan manager, support coordinator or local area coordinator can tell you. You can also call the NDIA on 1800 800 110, or call us on (02) 8091 4087 and we will work it out with you.
I am a support coordinator or plan manager. Can I set this up for someone?
Yes. You can fill in this form on the participant's behalf and deal with us directly. Call us on (02) 8091 4087 or email help@alifeplus.com.au.
Do I have to commit to a set number of meals?
No. There are no lock-in contracts and no minimum orders. You choose what you want each time. Delivery is free on orders over $50.00.
Where do you deliver?
We deliver to NSW, VIC, QLD, ACT, SA, TAS and WA. Enter your postcode on our delivery page to see the days and cut-off times for your area.
Can meals be softened or pureed?
Yes. We can texture modify meals to softened or pureed. Write what you need in the special instructions box at checkout, or call us on (02) 8091 4087 and we will note it on the account. We can also substitute or leave out ingredients in the same way.
Can you leave out ingredients someone reacts to?
We can leave ingredients out of a meal on request. Please note our kitchen also handles eggs, fish, milk, peanuts, sesame, crustaceans, soy, nuts, tree nuts, gluten, lupin and sulphites. We follow best practice, but we cannot guarantee a meal is completely free of them. If someone has a severe allergy, call us before ordering so we can talk it through.
How long does it take to get set up?
It depends on how the plan is managed. Self managed participants can order straight away. Plan managed usually depends on how quickly the plan manager confirms the funding. Agency managed takes longest because the NDIA has to create a service booking or endorsement first.
