A paleo diet is short for paleolithic diet, which is designed to resemble what human hunter-gatherer ancestors ate thousands of years ago.
What is paleo diet
By following a whole food-based diet and leading physically active lives, hunter-gatherers presumably had much lower rates of lifestyle diseases, such as obesity, diabetes and heart disease. The paleo diet focuses on the exclusion of anything processed while eating an abundance of meat, seafood, fruits, vegetables, and some nuts and seeds, but no grains, legumes, or refined sugars.
